Quick Start Guide

1. Your Portfolio Management site

Go to your Portfolio Management site: http://yourdomain.paradepro.com/parade. Make sure you replace yourdomain with the actual domain you chose at signup. If you don’t remember what domain you chose, you’ll be able to find it in the Welcome Email that you received after you signed up.

2. Login

Login with your user name and password. You’ll find your username in your Welcome Email as well. If you don’t remember what password you chose you’ll have to reset it by clicking the Forgot Password link. A new password will be sent to the email address you specified at signup.

3. Upload Photos

Once you’re logged in, it’s time to upload some photos! Click Upload Photos.

Select Files

The Add Photos window will popup (make sure it doesn’t get blocked by your popup blocker). Click Select Files.

*Tip: you can select more than one file at a time! Hold the Apple key () (Cntr on Windows) and click the files you’d like to upload.

Upload Progress

Once you’ve selected your files you’ll see a progress bar as your photos are being uploaded.

Depending on the file size of your photos and the speed of your internet connection, it may take a while to upload your photos. If it looks like your photos might take some time, you can minimize the Add Photos popup and return to the main Portfolio Management site (but don’t close the upload window! just leave it off to the side and let it finish uploading).

4. Create Gallery

Now that you’ve got some photos in the system, it’s time to create a gallery. Click Add A Gallery.

You will be prompted to enter a title for your gallery. This can be whatever you want it to be. For this demo I’ve used Random Stuff. Once you’ve entered your title click Save Settings.

Now you have a gallery! It may be empty – but it’s still a gallery!

5. Add Photos To Gallery

Let’s go back to the photos page by clicking the Photos tab. You can select multiple photos simply by clicking on them. There is also the option to Select All photos in the toolbar just above the first photo.

Once you’ve selected the photos you’d like to add to you gallery, click Add To Gallery (located in the toolbar above the photos). It should drop down and display all of the galleries you’ve created. Simply click the gallery you want. In my case there’s only one gallery, so the choice is easy!

6. Order Your Photos

Now that your gallery has some photos in it, we should probably put them in order. Select your gallery from the Galleries page. Now you will see only the photos that you’ve added to your gallery. Click the Sort Photos button. You can now drag and drop your photos into your desired order. Make sure you click Done Sorting once you’re happy with your order – otherwise it will not be saved!

7. Make Gallery Public

Click Galleries one more time to return to the gallery listing page. Your gallery probably still says Don’t Show below the thumbnail, which means that it will not be displayed on your portfolio site. Click Show to make it public.

8. Name Your Site

Click Website at the very top of the site (above the Parade logo).

Enter a title and, if you want to, a subtitle. In this demo I’ve used Felix Fielding as the title and photography as the subtitle.

9. Tell Your Friends!

That’s it. That’s the basics of Parade. Go to your portfolio site, http://yourdomain.paradepro.com, and you should see your first gallery be able to browse your photos.

10. Just The Basics

There’s so much more that you can do with Parade – this is just the essentials. Don’t be afraid to play around in your Portfolio Management site and see what else you can discover. Most of it is pretty straight forward – and there will be more help and tutorials coming soon.
