Pages vs Blurbs

Pages are new and exciting. Blurbs are old and boring.

All new themes will only support Pages. However, themes that were released before the advent of Pages have had to go through a rebuild in order to support both Pages and Blurbs.

The Pages module allows you to:

  • have more pages!
  • easily sort and reorder your pages.
  • have semi-private pages. you can have a page that is not in your main navigation.

Basically, Pages are just better than Blurbs.

Switching to the new Pages version of your theme

If you’re using a theme that has the word (Old) in it’s title, you’re using the Blurbs module. You’ll want to switch to the new version of the theme that supports Pages (and doesn’t have the word (Old) in it’s title).

You will have to copy and paste the content from your Blurbs into your new Pages.

  1. Create your pages.
  2. Copy and paste the content from each Blurb into it’s corresponding Page
  3. That’s all!

You might find this process easier if you open two tabs (or windows) in your browser. One open to the Pages section and one open to the Blurbs section. This way you won’t have to go back-an-forth all the time.

We’ve tried to make this transition as smooth and transparent as possible. We hope you enjoy the new functionality!
